My dear
Ones,
We have been blessed with another Lenten
season. It is a season of Christian ‘Sadhana’
(spiritual excercises) to strengthen our
spirit so that it may take greater control
of our bodies. Most of the time, our bodies
– their desires control our behaviour,
but we are told in the Word of God that
our bodies are to be offered to God as living
sacrifice, dedicated to His service &
pleasing to Him – Romans 12:1.
St. Paul writes also that there is a conflict
constantly going on within human beings.
It is a conflict between the Law of God
at work in us and our bodily lusts, see
Romans 7:21-25. St Paul writes further that
“there
is no condemnation for those who live in
union with Christ Jesus ------------ what
the law could not do, because human nature
was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human
nature by sending His own Son, who came
with a nature like man’s sinful nature
to do away with sin. God did this so that
the righteous demands of the law might be
fully satisfied in us who live according
to the Spirit, and not according to human
nature.” (Romans 8:1-4)
